Running is a fantastic way to stay fit, but it also puts repetitive stress on the body.
Repetitive movement during running can often lead to a range of common injuries. At our clinic, we regularly treat both novice and competitive runners, helping them recover from and prevent these issues. Below are some of the most frequent running-related injuries we see daily.

Common Injuries Associated With Running
Lower back pain
Lower back pain from running is fairly common, and usually comes down to biomechanics, weakness, or training load rather than a serious spinal problem.
Glute weakness/bursitis
The gluteal muscles are key for hip stability, posture, and lower-limb alignment.
Inflammation of the bursa over the greater trochanter (outer hip bone).
Hamsting strain
A hamstring tear is an injury to one or more of the hamstring muscles at the back of the thigh (biceps femoris, semimembranosus, semitendinosus).
Calf strain
A calf strain is a tear in one of the calf muscles It’s very common in runners, footballers, and sports involving sudden acceleration or jumping.
Mortons Neuromer a common cause of forefoot pain in runners and people who spend a lot of time on their feet
Quadricep strain/tightness
A quad tear from running is a serious injury involving partial or complete tearing of one or more of the quadriceps muscles (most commonly the rectus femoris) at the front of your thigh.
Runners kneeRunner’s knee is the common name for patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). Pain comes from irritation around or behind the kneecap (patella), where it meets the thigh bone (femur).
ITB syndrome
Inflammation and irritation of the iliotibial band, a thick band of connective tissue running along the outside of the thigh from hip to shin.
Pain happens where the IT band repeatedly rubs over the outside of the knee (lateral femoral condyle).
Achilles Tendonopathy is a common overuse injury of the Achilles tendon (the thick tendon connecting calf muscles to the heel). It’s especially seen in runners, jumpers, and athletes who suddenly increase training
Planarfacisa which is the most common cause of heel pain, especially in runners and people who spend long hours standing.
Shin splints, also known as medial tibial stress syndrome, are a common running injury that causes pain along the front or inner edge of the shinbone. They are often linked to overtraining, sudden increases in running intensity, or running on hard surfaces. If left untreated, shin splints can worsen and significantly limit training.
